Cortina d'Ampezzo (Anpezo o Ampez in ladin) is the biggest and the most famous of the 18 municipalities that form the Ladinia, renowed and exclusive winter turistic locality, home of the Winter Olympic games in 1956 and nowadys theatre of numerous international sporting events.
From 1511 to 1918 the municipality was part of the Tyrol, becoming first part of the Trento municipality in 1918 and then part of the Belluno municipality in 1923.
Situated in the middle of the Ampezzo's basin, being between the Cadore at South, the Val Pusteria at North, the Val d'Ansiei at Easth and the Alto Agordino at West, Cortina is 360° surrounded by Dolomiti Ampezzane, that confer to the valley a beauty unique in the world.
The first evidence of the name Ampezzo del Cadore for this location dates back to Jun, 15th 1156, to show that this wonderful valley has always been an area of great interess.
The big infrastructures and the sporting building built for the Olympic games are nowaday used by tourists: the skylifts exceed thirty, more than twenty are the chairlifts and a decade the drag lifts, with over than 140 km of downhill slopes and 58 km of tracks.
Summer tourism has perhaps even broader range of activities: the Ampezzo valley, as well as the surrounding verdant valleys and massive ranges that surround them, offer summer travelers a huge number of trips of any length and difficulty to be faced on foot or by bicycle.
We are pleased to inform you that, thanks to a collaboration with the main real estate operator of Ampezzo, we can offer exclusively almost all the buildings now avaible in this beautiful corner of Italy.
